Metalsmithing Workshop - Make your very own custom silver (or bronze) ring! Ages 16 and up.

Workshop Format: 2-day workshop to create a custom silver ring - $180 per person, PLUS* $30 to $80, Casting & Metal fees per student, for each student, to be invoiced and paid individually once the pieces have been cast.  *Casting price depending on the weight and material selected for the ring, silver or bronze.

Outcome: Each student completes a custom silver (or bronze, depending on their respective budgets for casting) ring valued at $180–$400, creating a meaningful piece to keep or gift.

• Day 1: Ring design and wax carving. Students will design and carve their own ring in wax. The piece is then sent away for casting.

• Day 2 (3 weeks later): Finishing work. Students will file, texture, and finish their cast silver ring, learning techniques for cleanup and refinement. 

Tools & Techniques: Students will use saw techniques, lost wax casting skills and utilize a variety of professional jewellers handtools
